The Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) is set to host the highly anticipated Nakuru National Agricultural Show from July 2nd to July 6th, 2025, at the ASK Showground in Nakuru County. This annual event remains one of Kenya’s most prominent agricultural exhibitions, bringing together players from the farming, agribusiness, education, public sector, and innovation sectors under one platform.

This year’s theme, “Promoting Climate-Smart Agriculture and Trade Initiatives for Sustainable Economic Growth,” underscores the country’s commitment to addressing the effects of climate change while enhancing productivity through modern, sustainable practices. Farmers, researchers, students, manufacturers, and the general public will get a chance to explore new ideas and technologies tailored to the future of agriculture and economic development.
Visitors can look forward to engaging exhibitions featuring over 150 organizations, ranging from agricultural research institutions, universities, and NGOs, to private companies in manufacturing, technology, banking, hospitality, and more. Government agencies and county departments will also have a strong presence, providing services and information on various development programs.
One of the most exciting features of this year’s event is the introduction of a livestock auction—a first for the Nakuru ASK Show. Farmers will be able to bid for high-quality livestock breeds, offering a new avenue for improving their herds and boosting productivity. According to ASK Nakuru Branch Chairperson, Dr. Perminus Migwi, this move is in response to public interest in accessing the livestock on display in past shows. Now, attendees can go beyond admiration and make real investments in quality animals.

In addition to livestock displays and auctions, the show will feature practical demonstrations on climate-smart farming, innovations in irrigation, animal husbandry, agritech solutions, and value addition techniques. Experts from institutions like the Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO) and Egerton University will be present to share research findings, technical advice, and hands-on training with visitors.
Educational groups are strongly encouraged to attend, with special rates available for schools. Not only is this show an excellent opportunity for learners to witness textbook theory in real life, but teachers and school groups also benefit from complimentary entry for accompanying staff and participation certificates. Parents and families can also enjoy the diverse activities, food courts, cultural shows, and children’s zones throughout the five-day event.
